Good to know before you visit
- There is no continuous 24×7 stream of the Navapashanam moolavar idol in the inner sanctum — it is protected for structural preservation and per agama tradition. The temple's official channel does, however, broadcast live poojas and abhishekams, which appear here when on air.
About Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple
Set atop the Palani hills, this is one of the six sacred abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Murugan. Devotees climb the hill or take the winch to receive darshan of the deity made of nine herbs.

October to March — cooler and pleasant for the hill climb; Thaipusam (Jan–Feb) is the most fervent but extremely crowded.
Dress Code
Traditional modest attire; remove footwear at the foot of the hill. Many devotees climb barefoot as a vow.
